Heaven Sent

Isn't  it funny how life turns out sometimes? Last year my first apartment was not the best (to put it lightly). I knew that I could not live the rest of my freshman year like that so I made the decision to move. I moved 2 floors above into 308 and in my new apartment I had the best roommates. It's now almost the end of sophomore year and we don't live together anymore but the friendship has remained. Even though we have opposite schedules sometimes we get lucky and get to see each other!

The other day life got me down because it does that sometimes. Alyse and I were planning on updating on life but I had no intention of blabbering out all my feelings to her. But somehow she has this aroma around her and I just started spilling everything I was thinking to her (it's probably the psychology major in her- and maybe the fact that she is my best friend). I cannot tell you how grateful I was for her. I really needed someone that I could simply just talk to about everything. She was so selfless and she understood. Just the fact that she was willing to listen. I really got so lucky with having her as my roommate last year. 

I also had Heidie has a roommate and let me tell you, she is also probably one of the best people I know. I cannot tell you how many times she has said something that has turned my insights around. She took me home for Easter which was wonderful because like Alyse we are not able to see each other as often as we would like. She was also able to be there for a moment in my life where I needed a little more support than just my family. I am so dang lucky!

I know that life does not always turn out the way we plan. People move on, things change (marriages, moving, missions). Fights happen, people pass way, school gets the best of us, we (or people we seriously care about) get seriously ill, financial situations may arise. But through these experiences we grow, mature, and learn from them. We sometimes learn that what we may have wanted a year ago (a week, 6 months, 3 years ago etc..)  is something different but yet better. I know that we are not left alone. My Heavenly Father put my roommates in my life to help me with whatever life throws at me. I am extremely blessed because I don't think He could have picked anyone better.

Labor Day

Morgan, Haley, and I decided to hike to the wind caves. It's one of my favorite hikes in the Logan area. I had a lot of fun with them and I love how cute Morgan is for a hike. Makeup, hair, earrings- the whole thing. Haley and I just throw on a t-shirt and pants. 

And my roommate came back today. It's been 5 days!!! (she could not believe it either.) Talk about an extra long weekend. I'm so happy that she's back and as you can tell we are quite weird. It's what you get when you have known each other for as long as we have.

Summer Sleepover

One of the best things is having a sleepover with your best friends. Staying up late and talking about boys, college, past events in our friendship, the dreams we had the night before, and even playing Truth or Dare (but without the dare part). I am a lucky duck for having Audrey and Taylor in my life.

Gone

The date is finally here. July 5, 2012. I've seen it coming especially with little reminders that I get from a variety of different things.  Like...

The expiration date of the milk. 

And I was at the library last week and there were reminders all around reminding people that the library would be closed for the 4th, but no need to fear, it would reopen the 5th of July.

It's crazy, I remember when he called telling me that he got his call to Mexico and I was so excited for him, and that was back when I was still in school. Time flies by when you don't want it to. I guess it will just be the threesome of Taylor, Audrey, and I again. Goodbye Michael. We will miss you and all the interesting things that you do! Thanks for being a great friend and we will see you in 2 years! Good Luck Elder!!!

The Farewell

Michael gave his farewell talk yesterday and it is starting to hit that he is leaving. All I can say is that Mexico is gaining a great guy and us in the USA are going to miss him.

But it's not goodbye yet, we still have 10 more days (and wow, that is sooner than I realized) to be with him. We are going to miss this fellow.

I Just Got A Letter!

I got back to Logan this afternoon and what do I see sitting on my desk? 

A letter. To me, from my best friend Audrey. 

This was no ordinary letter either. It was 6 pages long with a picture. This was the best letter ever and it made me laugh out loud more than once. I love this girl. She makes me very happy! I am so glad we met back in 9th grade. Now if we were just at the same school I would be a very joyful human being.

The reason Amanda has such vivid makeup is because she was in a huge choir production. Don't worry, it's normal this time of year. 

High School Days and other things....

Today. Today was long and long. Plain and simple. My feet were dragging. I thought I had only half an hour left at work when I actually had 3. Sometimes time moves by so slow! But on the plus side I got a paycheck and a Christmas bonus (lucky me)!

What I really liked about today was the old high school days. When my friends would come over and we would just talk about things for hours, laugh, eat, and watch a movie. 

We did all of the above besides watch a movie. So much fun. The topics were different. Guess we are growing up. This time it was about roommates and health issues (someone better not die- but I will make her funeral potatoes if she does. But please DON'T die). 

I don't miss high school, just the social high school life. That was great. 

Even though Taylor came up to USU with me, I don't see her very often. And then Audrey. She went of the BYU so it was fantastic to see her again! 

mmmmm..... what else of today. Well, one of the blogs I currently stock is now on my google chrome top 8 list. probably should not be, but the blog is very entertaining and makes me laugh. I may post what it is later, if I feel like it. If I feel like admitting I am a total stocker (but I follow the blog publicly. It's not that bad right?).

Friends and Movies

Not much really going on in my life right now.

Except my friends from down in Orem came up for the weekend! Audrey, Kirsten, and Sydney! It was so nice to see them. It has been months!!! Literally! We went sledding, ate way good food and Aggie Ice Cream, watched Harry Potter 7 (both parts- and I was in heaven), and we did a lot of talking!!!

Oh! And there is a Tangled 2 short thing coming out in January! I am super excited! That is one of my favorite movies. Yes, you may call me a child, but that movie seriously makes me smile. A lot.
Oh and I just saw the Hunger Games trailer today! It looks better than I thought it would. I just might see it. Depends.

Our Own Little Party

Friday night Taylor and Emma called me to come over and make Candy Corn Sugar Cookies. It was just Talya and me. Alone. Our other roommates either went home for the weekend or went to a party. So when Emma and Taylor called it was good news for us!

Talya and I made the trek to the north side of campus and up 4 flights of stairs to get to their apartment. When we entered the smell of sugar cookies was defiantly in the air! It felt like Fall! 

The candy corn sugar cookies were so good. Just sugar cookies shaped like a candy corn. We dammed them and flooded them.

I love Halloween!

After our wonderful cookie making, we turned off all the lights, blasted Pandora, and put a strobe light on. It was a party of 4 and it was so much fun! We danced for about an hour (or so it felt). 

After our dance party we went to my apartment and watched She's the Man till 3:00 in the morning! 

Friday night was defiantly a night that I needed. I have not seen Taylor and Emma for a month and Talya and I just needed to get out of the apartment. It was such a great night!!! 

BEST DAY EVER!

It's official! I am in college. If I think going to the grocery store is the start of the BEST DAY EVER!

Taylor (my best friend from high school), Emma (her wonderful roommate), and I decided to figure out the free bus system so we will not be stranded on campus. Went to Smith's and we are slowly figuring out this whole bus system.

Then throughout the evening we were speaking in  "British Accents," well more like attempting. We got a few weird looks. I don't blame them, we were a little off the walls last night :) We did this for more than an hour.

Watched Penelope. Cutest movie ever!!! And after the movie it was quite late, and I had to walk home. And it was raining and there some HUGE puddles, so here are some pictures from our walk home! (and before we left- in the mirror)
