Birthday Love

My roommate Britney has a very fortunate birthday. It lands on the day of love. Valentines. We went to Olive Garden because she has never been there. It was defiantly unforgettable. Our waiter became my Valentine and Sarah's too!
Happy Birthday Britney and Happy Valentines Day to the rest!

Christ the Lord is Risen Today!

Happy Easter!

I spent Easter with my roommates Heidie and Emme and it was so much fun to spend Easter with a family and laugh at all the silly things we do and say. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun!

I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and for His atonement. Over these past few weeks I have come to realize even more how much the Savior cares for me and He truly does know my feelings and He can send me comfort in the ways that I need. I am eternally grateful for the gift of repentance and the love and support I feel when I come unto Him with my faults and repent and ask for His guidance for me to be a better person. I am so grateful that He has made it possible for my family to be together forever.

Welcome 2012!

Happy 2011! I mean 2012!
(This might take a bit to get used to.)

Ringing in the new year. I was with my very best friends. We sat on the couch and talked and then all of a sudden it was a whole new year.  We lit some firecrackers and Michael would delay a little before throwing them into the street. Taylor, Audrey, and I thought we were going to die. Though ringing in the new year was very mellow, I loved it.
New Year Resolutions
(it's a new year- why not?)

  1. Write down tender mercies of the Lord at least once a week.
  2. Read 12 books for personal enjoyment.
  3. Run a mile in 8 minutes and 30 seconds.
  4. Make something from Pinterest.
  5. Gather recipes for my a collection of my own.
  6. Go to the temple at least once a month.
  7. Go on a vacation.
  8. Be a better person than I was yesterday.
  9. Have a Harry Potter movie marathon. All 8 of them.
  10. Finish a whole tube of Chapstick.

That's all for now! Happy New Year's!
My reaction was a bit delayed- but this is when the
1st firecracker went off and this was the result.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good Night!

    Merry Christmas!

I love Christmas at my house. The decorations, the food, and my brother and I have never woke up early. Never. My parents have always come into our rooms and had to wake us up. When we were little, they would need to carry us down the stairs. This year was no different.
We opened our Santa gifts, ate a terrific Christmas breakfast and the we went to church. Church was the perfect time to remember the reason for the Christmas season. I loved singing the Christmas carols. Angels We Have Heard on High, Silent Night.
When we came home we opened our gifts. I love the gifts that people put thought into. They mean so much more. What they would appreciate.
I had a wonderful Christmas. Watching movies, napping, eating, going to church. I love being home for Christmas.

    Where are you Christmas?

I can't believe it. It is almost 2 in the morning of Christmas Eve Day and it does not even feel like it.

Maybe it's the lack of snow.
Or the fact I am working retail and some people are not so nice.
Could even be that I have watched only 3 Christmas movies this entire Christmas season.
And this is odd. My house is not playing hardly any Christmas music. Strange. Christmas music is always playing in my house this time of year.
And that I spent the beginning/most of the fun time of Christmas at college. Away from home. Preparing for finals. Bleh.

    Christmas sure has changed.
My world is changing. I am growing up.
I can now say that I regret wishing to grow up as a child.
I was too in a rush to hurry through life.
Freshman year. I can't wait till I'm a Sophomore then I will be in the High School.
Sophomore year. I'm the lowest class. Junior year will be perfect.
Junior year. Can't I please just be a senior. All my senior friends are leaving.
Senior year. GET ME OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL. I need to go to college.
I should have just enjoyed it.
I had a great family life and they made me so happy.
I love spending time with them now more then ever. I liked hanging out with them when I lived at home, but now it means a lot more to me.

Ok, I am realizing this really late in the Christmas season (like Christmas Eve Day), but even with the lack of snow and mean customers, I am going to strive to keep Christ in my life. For He is the reason for the Christmas season. As I strive to remember Him, the holiday season is going to be a lot more pleasant.
(maybe a few Christmas carols and movies would not hurt either)

    P.S.
I think I fully, 100% now understand the meaning to the song.

    The Lights on Temple Square

    My favorite nativity scene
Right before the week of finals a group in my ward went down to to Temple Square to the the lights. It was a bit cold, but seeing the lights on Temple Square felt like Christmas! I loved seeing the Nativity Scenes. One of my favorite things though was when a few of us went to see the Christus. It was obviously crowded on a Friday night close to Christmas, but that is what I liked about it. Most of the kids in the room were gathered around his feet. Some parents were showing the nail prints on His feet. It was very touching and it reminded me of the true meaning of Christmas.
We had so much fun and there was a lot of picture taking. It was a great night!  I love the spirit of Christmas!

    Roommate "Christmas Morning"

Tonight in room 308 it was Christmas Morning!
We had our very own Roommate Christmas Party and it was so much fun!

    Our Gang Sign
    Do you see the 308?

All our presents "under" the tree
We started off the party with sharing our favorite Christmas memories then we watched Miracle on 34th Street as we ate yummy, delicious food (a party needs food). After the party we exchanged our Secret Santa Gifts. Soon after Thanksgiving Break we all drew names and whoever we drew we gave a gift to. It was not rigged in any way, but we all drew our roommate's (the one we share a room with) name. We had a blast! We loved it so much and sometimes we just would laugh. Merry Christmas from Richards 308!

    The 4th of July!

I already said Happy 4th of July! But I can say it again! Happy 4th!

Today we started the day "early." Early meaning 7:00. That is early for the summer, and then off we went to the parade which I pretty much already talked about. It was a great parade. It makes me feel like a little child again!

Went home and took a much needed nap. Woke up and talked to my grandma about college. Soon afterwards it was time for the annual 4th of July BBQ! So good!  Watched fireworks with my family and then afterwards went over with Beth and Rachel to the cul-de-sac next door and watched their fireworks. To whoever made the new Utah fireworks law, THANK YOU! It was so amazing! I was in awe!

    Reasons I Love Utah- #12

       Happy 4th of July!!!!

Since I live in Utah and Provo has one of the biggest 4th of July Parades in the country, my family and I decided that we would go to the parade this year.... again, like we do pretty much every year we are in town.

    Anyways....
We are cheering on the parade people and you the common typical parade things like the Beauty Pageant Queens, Marching Bands, Mayors in Fancy Cars, Horses, Company's Advertising their Business, Floats, the whole Parade Shambam! Then we see the MISSIONARIES!!! The whole lot of them and there are a ton! And they just keep coming. And they get loud cheers and screams and people are standing up for them! It was fantastic! What other state or other valley of Utah puts missionaries into their parade? Utah Valley does!!! I think I am in LOVE.....

Happy Easter! I am so thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ.

"Part of the reason the Savior suffered in Gethsemane was so that he would have an infinite compassion for us as we experience our trials and tribulations. Through his suffering in Gethsemane, the Savior became qualified to be the perfect judge. Not one of us will be able to approach him on the Judgment Day and say, ‘You don’t know what it was like.’ He knows the nature of our trials better than we do, for he ‘descended below them all.’”

    -Glenn L. Pace, Ensign, Sep 1988, 70

I am so thankful for my Savior. He will always know how I am feeling through my happiest moments and my saddest. People can comfort me and they can sorta know how I feel, especially if they have gone through something similar, but Jesus Christ is the only one who knows exactly how I feel. Always.

He is such an example in my life and I am eternally gratefull for EVERYTHING that he has done for me. He has changed my life forever. I know that He lives and that He loves me.
